This Privacy Policy explains how Forge Local, LLC ("Forge Local," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website or purchase Forge Lead Agent (the "Software"). By using our website or buying the Software, you agree to the practices described here.
The Software runs on your computer, not ours. Forge Lead Agent operates locally, using your own accounts and API keys. The business leads, contact details, and reports it produces stay on your machine and in your accounts. We do not receive, store, or have access to the lead data the Software generates.
How Your Purchase Works
We sell the Software through Polar (Polar Software, Inc.), which acts as our Merchant of Record. That means when you buy Forge Lead Agent, Polar is the seller of record for the transaction: Polar hosts the checkout, processes your payment, and handles sales tax where applicable. Polar uses Stripe as its underlying payment processor. Once your purchase is complete, you receive the Software from us as described below, and your ongoing customer relationship for support is with Forge Local.
Because Polar runs the checkout, the personal and payment information you enter at checkout is collected by Polar and handled under Polar's Privacy Policy, with card details processed under Stripe's Privacy Policy. We receive order and contact details from Polar so we can deliver the Software and provide support.
Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to sell and deliver the Software and to operate our website:
- Order & contact information. When you purchase through Polar, we receive your name, email address, and order details from Polar so we can deliver the Software and support you. If you contact support, we receive whatever information you include in your message.
- Payment information. Payments are collected at checkout by Polar (our Merchant of Record) and processed by Stripe. Your card details are submitted through that checkout and handled under Polar's and Stripe's privacy policies. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers.
- Delivery information. The Software is delivered as a code repository through GitHub. Accessing it may require a GitHub account, which is governed by GitHub's Privacy Statement.
- Automatically collected information. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and access times) to keep the site secure and running.
- Analytics & cookies. At launch, our website does not use analytics or advertising trackers such as Google Analytics or the Meta Pixel. We use only cookies strictly necessary for the site and checkout to function. If we add analytics or advertising cookies in the future, we will update this policy and provide any consent controls required by law before those tools go live.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- process your purchase and deliver the Software and access to it;
- provide customer and setup support;
- operate, secure, and maintain our website;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run a marketing email list or send promotional email.
Legal Bases for Processing
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we process your personal information on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to deliver the Software you purchased and provide support.
- Legal obligation — to meet tax, accounting, and other legal requirements.
- Legitimate interests — to keep our website secure and operational, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to run the business:
- Service providers who help us operate — currently Polar (Merchant of Record and checkout), Stripe (payment processing, as Polar's processor), GitHub (software delivery), and our website hosting provider. They may only use the information to perform services in connection with your purchase and our operations.
- Legal reasons — if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- Business transfers — if Forge Local is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
International Data Transfers
Forge Local is based in the United States, and the service providers we rely on may process information in the United States and other countries. If you access our website or purchase from outside the United States — including from the European Union or United Kingdom — your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your home country. Where required, our providers rely on recognized transfer safeguards (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses) for these transfers. Checkout data collected by Polar is transferred and safeguarded under Polar's own privacy terms.
Data Retention
We keep purchase and contact records for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described here and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, after which we delete or anonymize them.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices & Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@forgelocal.app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws — including, for EU/UK residents, the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing and to data portability, and for California residents, the rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will honor these rights as required by law, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. For information you entered at checkout, you may also contact Polar directly.
Third-Party Links
Our website and the Software may link to third-party services (such as Polar, Stripe, GitHub, or Google). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services; review their policies directly.
Children's Privacy
Our website and the Software are intended for business use by adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
